New Release Beauty: Clarins Garden Escape Collection & Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster

Posted on Friday 31 July 2015

I previously perceived Clarins as a luxury beauty brand targeted predominantly to mature women. I was unconvinced that Clarins would have products to suit a twenty-something like myself, but was pleasantly surprised after receiving a few of their products to try. We all know how much I love my French skincare brands, so I was extremely excited when I found out the iconic brand is French. I now have a Clarins wishlist a mile long, the popular Instant Light Lip Perfectors being at the top of that list.

The Spring collection features eight new beauty releases all created to provide a fresh and luminous make up look (view the full collection here).

The product which created the most hype in the beauty world would have to be the new balm addition to the Instant Light lip products. The Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector, available in six shades, is a tinted, cream lip product that requires minimum fuss.

I am currently on a beauty hunt to find the perfect blush, which definitely attracted me to the new Blush Prodige in Sweet Rose. Marketed as a long-lasting formula with mineral and plant extracts to awaken your complexion, this product makes a perfect summer addition to any beauty-drobe. Finally my inner concealer junkie is totally excited about the Instant Light Brush-On Perfector, seemingly similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, without the hefty price tag.

Onto today's review; two new releases from this collection as well as the recently launched Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster for Body.
Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster for Body*
A year on from the release of the Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster for Face, Clarins has released the highly-requested formulation for the body. This product is a highly concentrated oil which you mix in with your usual daily moisturiser to achieve an adjustable gradual tan. I adore the packaging of this product, the copper tones looking very luxe and on trend. The 'dropper bottle' ensures the product is easy to use and doesn't create a mess. You simply tip the bottle upside down and press the bottom of the tube to release a drop of product. This product comes in a 30ml tube which retails for AU$42.00 and is now available for purchase in Australia.

Using this product for two consecutive nights I saw a visible tan colour appear on my skin. This booster provides a natural looking glow and colour to your skin, with no streaks or orange tones. I tested this formula on my face as well and it worked well and did not cause breakouts. The Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster will be a staple in my beauty routine this summer, for both my body and face.
Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil*
I'll be honest, when I first received these lip oils I was not expecting to like them. Turns out I love them!  Sticky or glossy formula's are not what I would usually apply to my lips. These oils, although slick, are not at all sticky and wear super comfortably on the lips. They come in two shades, although they are not at all pigmented; 01 Honey is sheer in colour and 02 Raspberry has the slightest berry-tone. What I love most about these is their delicious scent, they smell like candy. The packaging is small enough to throw in your beauty bag but still luxurious looking. The trick to these lip oils are to take the 'less is more' approach when applying. These contain 7ml of product and retail for AU$33.00.
Garden Escape Six-Colour Eye Palette*
The final product I have to talk about today, is one I was really excited to try. Just look at that luxurious  packaging! The compact is a good size for travel, sturdy and features a big mirror. To be honest, this is not a palette I would have picked up for myself, as I am much more of a bronze-eyeshadow girl. Never did I think I would like a pink shadow on my eyes. But after trying out different looks with these colours, I was surprisingly pleased. This is a great palette for spring, with the pink and green shadows combining really well. The shadows have a smooth, satin texture and a pearly finish. I haven't yet tried applying the shadows with a wet brush, which is likely to get a more pigmented finish. I think the Garden Escape Eye Palette would be perfect for Spring brides (or bridesmaids).

The whole Garden Escape collection is set to launch on Australian beauty counters on August 10, 2015. I would love to know what your favourite Clarins beauty products are?
